We are all feeling awe at the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and a stomach wrenching compassion for the thousands of injured and slain Japanese citizens.
It's times like these that remind us of our mortality.
Young drivers should always remember that they are not immune to accidents or even worse a fatality.

When we do a walk around of our vehicle as we prepare to get in the driver's seat, we must remind ourselves that we will be sharing the highway with some people who don't always make the best decisions while driving. We must drive defensively in order to survive because people can die when they lose concentration while driving.
The tragedy unfolding in Japan is so far away but we must take it to heart , be prepared in all things that could risk our lives, and don't take any thing for granted.
In making an effort to be safe we may preserve the lives of those around us.
